Pershing 56

Few names carry the promise of speed quite like Pershing, and the 56 wears it well. Seventeen metres of bold Italian design, low and purposeful on the water, she looks quick standing still and delivers on it under way, with a top speed of around forty knots that folds the coast away behind you. Yet there is more to her than the thrill of the throttle. The deck is arranged with real intelligence, with space to lounge in the sun, gather around the cockpit and step down to the water when the anchor drops. Inside, the living spaces are stylish and well judged, three cabins offering a cool retreat from the afternoon sun or a comfortable place to stay aboard. She handles the long coastal run and the quiet day at anchor with equal ease. Up to eleven guests share the day, looked after by a single crew member who keeps the experience seamless. Snorkelling gear is aboard for the clear water below. What she offers is the best of both, the excitement of genuine pace when you want it and the comfort to slow right down when you do not. Point the bow at a distant cove and she gets you there in moments, leaving more of the day for the swimming and the long lunch that follows. Some boats are built to be admired. This one is built to be driven. The only question is how far you feel like going.
