Mangusta 72

The Mangusta 72, built by the Overmarine Group, has the kind of low, sporting profile that has made the name a fixture along the Riviera. At around twenty-two metres she pairs a genuine turn of speed with the comfort to enjoy a full day aboard, a combination that suits the waters of St Tropez perfectly. She looks fast standing still, and she delivers on it under way. Yet there is more to her than performance. The interior is elegantly finished, with well-styled cabins for the guests who stay aboard, while the exterior offers generous deck space for the part of the day that matters most, the hours spent in the sun and beside the water. Two cabins welcome up to six guests overnight, with up to twelve sharing the day and a crew of six looking after every detail. With a top speed of around thirty-five knots she has the reach to explore the coast at pace, then settle into stillness when the anchor drops in a quiet cove. The deck is arranged for lounging, for gathering, for the easy step down to the water for a swim. Snorkelling gear is aboard for the clear water below. She strikes a balance that many boats aim for and few achieve, sporty enough to make the journey a pleasure and comfortable enough to make you want to stay. Some boats are built to arrive. This one is built to enjoy the getting there.
